Scripture: “Jesus said to him, ‘Do you want to be made well?’” – John 5:6 (NKJV)
Devotional:
There are things we hold onto—not because they’re helping us, healing us, or growing us—but simply because they’re familiar. We tolerate broken relationships, toxic cycles, and limiting mindsets not because they serve us, but because we’ve gotten used to them.
In John 5, Jesus meets a man who’s been lying by the pool of Bethesda for 38 years. Healing was available, but he was still stuck. Not because change wasn’t possible, but because he had become comfortable in his dysfunction.
When Jesus asks, “Do you want to be made well?” — He wasn’t asking for information. He was confronting resignation.Because sometimes, dysfunction becomes so familiar… we stop expecting deliverance.
Here’s the truth:
👉 Comfort doesn’t equal calling.
👉 Familiarity doesn’t equal functionality.
👉 God won’t bless the dysfunction you refuse to leave.
Today, Jesus is asking you the same question:“Do YOU want to be made well?”
It’s time to:
Rise — Break agreement with what’s been holding you back.
Take up your bed — Turn your place of pain into a platform of praise.
Walk — Move forward into freedom and purpose.
Declaration:“I am breaking the agreement with familiar dysfunction. I will not die in what God has called me to outgrow. I’m rising. I’m moving. I’m walking into what’s next — starting today!”
Stay encouraged, stay bold, and keep walking forward. You don’t have to stay stuck. God is calling you out of what’s familiar and into what’s freeing.
